ThinCats welcomes new business development director

ThinCats has appointed Michelle Heptinstall (pictured above) as a business development director for the North and Midlands.

In her new role, she will focus on servicing the increasing levels of demand for funding to support the growth of mid-sized SMEs across the North and Midlands, particularly private equity-backed businesses.

She will be based in ThinCats’ new Manchester office and work closely with its existing regional development teams in the North West, North East and Midlands.

Michelle has significant experience in the financial services and business banking industry, having previously held roles at Clydesdale Bank and, most recently, Virgin Money.

Commenting on her appointment, Michelle said: “I’m thrilled to be joining ThinCats at such an exciting stage of its development.

“SMEs and their advisers are increasingly turning to alternative lenders to create bespoke and flexible funding structures for private equity-backed buyouts and growth plans, which ThinCats is well placed to support.

“The North and Midlands markets are very buoyant with many quality businesses in these regions looking to accelerate their growth, and I look forward to helping them with this.”

Mike Hackett, head of business development at ThinCats, added: “It’s great to welcome Michelle to our specialist sponsors team.

“We are funding increasing numbers of sponsor-backed transactions across the country, so the time is right to have a physical presence to cover the North and Midlands.

“Michelle’s experience in this space is a fantastic addition to our capability and we look forward to supporting many more businesses with their funding needs.”
