Brightstar COO launches charity ball to support Alzheimer's Society

Brightstar Group’s chief operating officer, Will Lloyd-Hayward (pictured above), is organising a charity ball to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The black-tie event will be held at Grand Connaught Rooms in London on 23rd September 2022 from 7pm until midnight, and will include a drinks reception, three-course meal, celebrity guest speaker, charity auction, DJ and dancing.

Companies or individuals interested in attending the event can purchase tables of five or 10.

They can also select opportunities to sponsor the drinks reception and table prizes, or choose to become event or platinum sponsors — both of which include a table of 10 and pre-event promotion.

Donations can also be made via the event’s JustGiving page.

Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor or purchasing a table is advised to contact Will directly at [email protected].

The majority of proceeds will be directly donated to the charity, with a portion of the funds going towards covering the cost of the event.

Will and the charity ball co-organiser Laura Calcroft, events manager at White Duck Event Management, aim to raise at least £30,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society through the event.

The platinum sponsors already confirmed for the event are Barclays Bank, Brightstar Group, MT Finance and United Trust Bank.

In addition, 20 tables have been bought by numerous companies, including Coreco, Together, Hampshire Trust Bank, Sirius Property Finance, Landbay, LendInvest, Castle Trust Bank, Black & White Bridging and OSB Group.

“This is a personal story, goal and effort; back in 2016, my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and his condition has continued to deteriorate since,” said Will.

“While he is still a healthy and happy dad, I have seen first-hand the damage this disease does to a person and their loved ones.

“I have always cared about wanting to make a difference and play my part personally in raising money for causes which can help change lives — this is why I want to host my first autumn Alzheimer’s charity ball and am doing so with Laura, whose own family has seen first-hand what this disease can do.

“We want a night to raise awareness of this disease and vital money for the Alzheimer’s Society to support its work, while also seeing people enjoy their night and making my dad proud!”

Buster Tolfree, director of mortgages at United Trust Bank, added: “One of the great things about our industry is how we all pull together to support important causes, and this is a great example of just that.

“The Alzheimer’s Society carries out fantastic work campaigning for greater awareness and funding research into dementia, and we are delighted to be able to support this event.”
