Estateguru hires head of capital markets

Estateguru has appointed Judith Tan (pictured above) as head of capital markets.

In her new role, she will support the company’s recent launch into the UK market, as well as maintain its existing presence across Europe.

Judith will lead the new European Investment Fund (EIF)-backed credit fund, which uses resources from the European Guarantee Fund to ensure SMEs have sufficient funding to withstand financial pressures brought by the pandemic.

She will also be responsible for securing funding for the UK and Germany, with a target of originating €5bn (£3.8bn) in three years, with a majority from the German entity.

In addition, Judith will work with the country teams to establish an origination process to facilitate funding by institutions globally, particularly the US.

Judith joins Estateguru from Native Finance, where she previously worked as a director.

Throughout her career, she held roles at various companies, including Lehman Brothers, Commerzbank AG, Nomura, Investec Bank, and Northgate Investment Management.

Commenting on her appointment, Judith said: “Estateguru is a forward-thinking player in the real estate investment scene across Europe.

Having just launched in the UK with the opening of its Manchester office, it’s an exciting time to join and help with its ambitious plans to expand nationwide, as well as focusing on the EIF credit fund to further develop our growth strategy.”

Marek Pärtel, co-founder and chairman at Estateguru, commented: “Judith has extensive knowledge and experience of both the UK and US markets and an outstanding pedigree, having originated circa $7bn (£5.3bn) in transactions across both sides of the Atlantic and Europe.

“She has already initiated plans to propel Estateguru’s growth as a leading property investment platform as we continue disrupting the landscape, and will be a real asset to the team.”
