Together lends over £300m in May

Together has lent £300m in a single month, a first in the specialist lender’s 48-year history.

The Cheshire-based finance group revealed its monthly figures for May, citing total new lending of £300.8m.

This is the second month in a row Together has broken its all-time lending record, and the figure — which includes commercial and personal finance lending — sees an 8% increase on its previous best of £277m.

The latest figures also revealed the highest ever monthly lending through Together’s intermediary sales team of £164.4m, with records in terms of its unregulated bridging and BTL products.

According to commercial CEO Marc Goldberg (pictured above), it is also the second consecutive month the company has lent £100m in bridging finance, which stood at £106m in May.

Marc said the £300m achievement was down to the group’s “fantastically strong” performance of sales channels throughout the month.

He added that the number of deals had notedly grown, with high levels of unregulated bridging and auction finance cases.

The fact Together’s new digital and retention channels are growing while its back book remains “resilient” has also made an impact, Marc said.

“These are excellent results and are testament to the hard work of all our Together colleagues,” he commented.

“We’re delighted to have achieved this milestone figure of £300m a month, with other records set in terms of commercial lending.”

Marc stated that while marked business expansion is important, Together — which now has a loan book of over £4.8bn — has made delivering the right approach to new and existing customers during “challenging times” a priority.

“We are working hard to build out our established values, but also thinking about our impact on the community, in terms of how we can outreach through our social housing initiative, charitable foundation, and ESG strategy,” he added.

The finance provider aims to create more opportunities in the community by working with schools and local groups, as well as young people within its business.
