‘£54 million? I’m not sure I would...’
Yes, it has the prestigious location and Candy Brothers’ signature haute-couture interior design and planning. Yes, it boasts walk-in wardrobes in each of its two achingly beautiful boudoirs. Yes, indeed, it is fully serviced by the award-winning Mandarin Oriental hotel. And, of course, it does have a private cinema, golf simulator, 21m stainless steel ozone pool and private entertainment suite.
Guests at the private viewing of a newly-sold One Hyde Park luxury apartment in Knightsbridge discussed the possibility of owning one such property and whether it ticked all the boxes for that sum.
With all but eight of the 80 properties having been snapped up, it is evident that there are those who do believe One Hyde Park ‘delivers ultimate perfection’, as suggested by estate agent Knight Frank.
Our host for the evening was Watford-based short term lender, Omni Capital, owned by development and property trading giant, CPC Group. The exclusive Champagne and canapés reception was held in honour of Omni Capital’s newly-assembled team and their vision going forward.
CEO Colin Saunders, who joined the company at the end of June, brings with him over 25 years’ worth of experience in the secured lending sector. His message to attendees was simple – focusing on their three guiding principles: funding, flexibility and fairness.
“All three guide our approach to business and are firmly embedded in every aspect of our operations and corporate philosophy,” he said.
Colin continued: “If there is a single word that best sums up Omni Capital it is ‘confidence’. Confidence in our team of professionals, who are experienced and bathed in commonsense. Confidence in our products which are transparent, fair and competitive. Confidence in our process, designed for speed and ease. And confidence in our funding – guaranteed and accessible.”
Omni Capital is eager to develop its broker partnerships, describing the company as intermediary-centric.
The finalised team, including Colin, has a staggering 137 years’ worth of collective experience within financial services.
Matt Rogers, formerly of Exclusive Connections, will be responsible for providing advice about deal structuring and sales support, while Jim Nash is renowned for his service ethic and relationship management skills. Both have been appointed as Sales Managers.
Head of Communication, Bob Sturges, is said to be an ambassador for the financial services industry as a whole, whilst Head of Underwriting Ed McAra’s strength lies in risk management.
Dena Thompson, who joined Omni Capital as Underwriting Manager from another short term lender Tiuta, has made a great impact in a short space of time. She has re-engineered the processes, systems and controls to ensure service confidence.
Development Director Liz Locke is a positive force within the company; her drive and ambition enables the team to continually challenge and improve.
All in all, brokers and select press were treated to an inside look at both the formidable property that is One Hyde Park and the grand master plan for Omni Capital. If any doubt remains, Colin closed with the following comment: “Having fully laid the necessary foundations, Omni Capital is now well-and-truly open and hungry for business.”
