Specialist finance industry raises almost £19,000 for Spread a Smile at B&C Awards 2023

Bridging & Commercial is delighted to announce that the specialist finance industry raised a record-breaking £18,836 for charity at the B&C Awards 2023 in September for Spread a Smile.

Guests at the event showcased their generosity by participating in the silent auction and pledging donations, as well as providing cash donations to the Spread a Smile magicians during the evening.

The record sum raised will help Spread a Smile — B&C Awards 2023’s selected charity partner — to bring smiles and laughter to seriously ill children and their families during the most difficult times of their lives.

The charity offers a variety of services free of charge to ill children and teenagers up to the age of 18, including hospital visits with magicians, face-painters, singers, and therapy dogs; outings and events; and art initiatives, to help children and their families cope with illness and treatment.

“On behalf of the team at Medianett Publishing, we would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who graced the B&C Awards 2023 with their presence and open hearts,” said Medianett Publishing’s managing director Beth Fisher.

“Your generosity has broken all previous charity fundraising records at the B&C Awards, and which will ignite a beacon of hope for countless children and their families.

“Thank you to the specialist finance industry for proving that together, we can make a difference.”
Lucy Jackson, chief executive at Spread a Smile (pictured above), added: “Spread a Smile was delighted to be chosen as charity partner for the B&C Awards 2023; it was an amazing evening and a great opportunity for us to share our vital work with a wider audience.

“We’re extremely grateful to Medianett Publishing and the generous guests from the specialist finance industry who together raised over £18,000 — a phenomenal amount which will help us spread hundreds of smiles to children and their family members when they need it most.”

Medianett Publishing will continue to support Spread a Smile with its endeavours; in November, the team will be volunteering to help pack bespoke Christmas hampers for the children and siblings the charity supports.

The organisation aims to build over 1,000 hampers this year.
