Mint appoints new head of credit

Mint Property Finance has promoted Sam Herd (pictured above), to head of credit.

Sam started her career at the Inland Revenue in 2002 and has been with Mint Property Finance for over seven years.

The announcement comes as Pete Howarth retires from the position at Mint after seven years, as part of a career spanning nearly four decades.

Commenting on her promotion and Pete’s departure, Sam said: “Pete has been an inspiration to both me and the wider team here at Mint.

“His expertise and common-sense approach, often in the face of some incredibly complex deals, is something I’m looking forward to emulating.

Andrew Lazare, director at Mint, added: “Sam is Pete’s natural successor in the business, with the two of them having worked together on thousands of loans over the course of the last seven years.

“Pete has made a massive contribution to Mint, educating the team, establishing our systems and processes as well as safely navigating us through some challenging market conditions.

“And following a successful six-month hand-over period to enhance Sam’s skills even further, we’re very much looking forward to seeing how she will further develop our offer.
