Jason McGee-Abe spoke to Simon Levene, Director of Levene Chartered Surveyors...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. How long have you been in the industry and how did you get to where you are now?

 

 

21 years in the industry starting at DTZ (Debenham Chewson and Chinnocks as was then know), then I joined a property company in Covent Garden and Soho, developed and operated as Managing Director at the Market and Leisure Complex, known as the Stables Market in Camden Town, and have operated my own business known as Levene Property Group Ltd (of which Levene Chartered Surveyors is part) 11 years ago.

 

 

2. What did you want to be when you were younger?

 

 

A F1 racing driver.

 

 

3. What is the most significant difference you have seen in terms of bridging over the years up to now?

 

 

There are far more lenders in the market.

 

 

4. Which sports team do you support, if any, and why?

 

 

Ferrari in F1- because I like the cars.

 

 

5. If you could change one thing about the sector, what would it be?

 

 

Its image would benefit from refinement – if that’s subtle enough?

 

 

6. If you could have one superpower, what would you choose and why?

 

 

To print money – does that need an explanation?

 

 

7. What was the last film you saw and what did you think of it?

 

 

Senna – it was great.

 

 

8. What would you put in room 101 if you had the chance?

9. What do you expect to happen in the bridging finance industry over the next 12 months?

 

I expect them to employ Levene Chartered Surveyors for most of the loan security work! The industry will continue to thrive in these uncertain banking times I am sure!


10. If you could do anything you wanted this Sunday, what would it be?

 

To not work would be nice…
