Annual property asking price sees 12-month growth high says Rightmove




The average asking price of a property coming to market increased by 1.1% this April to £372,324 which was pushed close to a new record, according to the Rightmove HPI.

This month fell just £570 short of the record achieved in May 2023 of £372,894, while the annual rate of price growth was 1.7%, the highest level in 12 months.

According to Rightmove, a key factor behind the growth is that the largest, top-of-the-ladder sector home have seen the strongest start to the year since 2014, with new sellers up by 18% compared with the same time last year, while the number of sales agreed upon increased by 20%.

Compared with the same time last year, the number of new sellers coming to the market has increased by 12% in comparison with the same time last year, with new sales being agreed going up by 13%.
