A £3.9 million country manor has been put on the market by shamed pundit Andy Gray after remortgaging the property three times failed to get his finances back on track after he was sacked for sexist comments.

Details from the Land Registry reveal the former Sky Sports presenter purchased the Grade II listed, five-bedroom property set in 19 acres of Warwickshire countryside, back in 2005 for £2.1million, and exposed his last failed attempt at refinancing was in March this year.

The property, boasting heated swimming pool, games room, period features, gym and multiple out-buildings has proven too much for Gray, who now earns around £150,000 hosting TalkSport radio show - less than ten per cent of his whopping £1.7million salary at Sky. When asked why he is selling his home, he told a friend: “These are difficult times and I need the money.”

An estate agent involved with sale of the property said: “The owner is keen to sell and is relocating in the area with his partner”, reported the Mail on Sunday.

The scandal came to light ten months ago, when Gray was recorded off-air making derogatory comments with his ex-colleague, Richard Keys, about female referee, Sian Massey.  They claimed Massey wouldn’t know the offside rule because she is a woman. Both Gray and Keys were sacked after a staggering number of complaints.

Known as ‘Randy Andy’ during his football career, the scandal has added to this nickname but cost Gray both his job and home – well and truly forcing him to tighten his belt.
