Bringing together a wide range of specialist finance industry experts — selected following a rigorous application process — the judges spent the day deliberating on the best companies and individuals shortlisted for the 24 of the 27 coveted awards at Medianett Publishing’s offices on Jewry Street, London.

After insightful conversations and intense debate, the two judging panels selected this year’s champions, with the broker panel choosing the lender winners, and vice versa.

Select award categories, including Best Surveyor, Best Specialist Finance Partner, Best Solicitor, and ESG Company of the Year, were judged by both panels.

Once again, this year’s process saw shortlisted companies submitting a three-minute video explaining why they deserve to be crowned in their category.

Meanwhile, individual nominees for the Lender Relationship Manager of the Year and Underwriter of the Year awards were required to participate in live interviews during the judging day.

The consideration period for these awards was between May 2023 and April 2024.

The shortlisted nominees dazzled the judges with greatly thought-out videos that showcased their value and achievements, as well as their enthusiasm and passion for their business — and, in several cases, their sense of humour.

The broker panel, chaired by Ray Cohen, director at Jackson Cohen Associates, kicked off the day by debating the lender categories and the performance of all individual nominees during the rapid-fire live interviews.

Once the brokers finalised their decisions — with the session finishing at 1:30pm — it was the lenders’ turn to select the broker winners, with the help of the panel’s chair, Vic Jannels, chairman at the ASTL.

The lender judges conducted a thorough discussion based on the video submissions and their own personal experiences.

The winners will be kept a closely guarded secret until they are revealed on 6th June during the official awards ceremony, held during the day at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham, west London.
