Federated Hermes provides £55m funding to RAS Capital

Federated Hermes Private Credit has committed to providing senior debt facility of £55m to asset manager RAS Capital.

The facility is set to be provided for the next three years to facilitate further lending into the short-term real estate finance space, in conjunction with their lending partners.

Over the last five years Federated Hermes has provided financing to RAS Capital No.3 Ltd to assist in the creation of its pool of residential loans, with this being the latest instalment.

RAS Capital was founded in 2013 by Assad Amin and Ed Spencer and since inception, has deployed over £700m across more than 1,800 loans.

Ed Spencer, director of RAS, commented: “We are delighted with the support that Federated Hermes continues to provide our business, and the confidence that they show in us.

“The additional capital will allow us to continue our growth trajectory over the coming months.”

Vincent Nobel, head of asset-based lending at Federated Hermes said “RAS Capital have built a highly diversified pool of loans secured by UK residential properties.

“The portfolio provides highly predictable cash flows which form a great basis for the senior financing we are providing.

“Our clients use real estate debt as a key diversifier in their real asset portfolios, which requires stability of income distributions from real estate debt investments in the face of an ever-changing real estate market.”
