Stephen Ashworth steps down as chair of North West RICS

Stephen Ashworth will this week be stepping down as the chair of North West RICS after over six years in the position.

Julian, who was previously managing director for the region, takes over from Liam Scott who has been promoted to deputy UK managing director and UK director of Charles Church Developments.

Stephen is also the chairman and CEO at property investment and development company, Hurstwood Holdings — he became chair of the North West regional board in August 2018.

Making the announcement on LinkedIn, Stephen said: “I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for the support that I have received from everyone involved in the RICS community — both from the North West and nationally.

“One of the achievements I’m most proud of is the evolution of our board. As my term drew to a close, we successfully transitioned to a new generation of leadership—an energetic and passionate group of younger members, ready to carry our efforts forward.

“This wasn’t easy, but it was a labour of love, and the future of our organisation is brighter because of it.

“Thank you again to everyone who has been a part of this journey. It’s been a privilege to serve, and I look forward to seeing the continued success of RICS in the North West.”
