Commercial lender Alternative Bridging Corporation (ABC) hired a new BDM, Mike Jones, last month. B&C: How did you get to where you are now? And what appealed about ABC?

MJ: The train... ABC is one the of the only specialist commercial lenders in the industry. We make fast decisions and are upfront as to what we do and don’t like straightaway. Plus, it’s a small team which means our decision making from beginning to end is coordinated and well communicated between us, the broker and the borrower.

What do you think are the biggest problems in bridging at the moment?

Too many chefs spoiling the broth.

Tell us one thing about you that not many people know?

What is one of the things you would put on your “bucket list”?

Cage diving with great white sharks.

Keith Lemon for pure entertainment, Dynamo as he is an amazing magician and my other half as she’s my everything.

Other half obviously! Sky Sports, and an infinite supply of Nando’s.

A variety of bridging lenders will disappear and with a bit of luck the banks will start to lend again.

If you could do anything you wanted this Sunday, what would it be?

To get away from the UK… anywhere with sun and a swimming pool!
