A duo face allegations of fraud totalling £3 million after they were said to have dishonestly raised finance on properties, sold properties they did not own or sold properties which did not exist through their business, according to Horncastle News.

Andrew George Cook, 51, and Claire Marie Shaw, 42, appeared before magistrates at Skegness, facing two counts of carrying on a business for a fraudulent purpose, two counts of carrying on a business with intent to defraud creditors and two counts of making false representations to obtain loans from Barclays Bank, the title reported.

The alleged offences, relating to companies they ran called Allerway Leisure and Tattershall Leisure, are said to have taken place between April 11 2006 and February 15 2011.

Shaw faces additional charges of stealing a motor home and deceptively obtaining £50,000 from a finance company. Cook and Shaw both deny the allegations.

The report confirmed that the cases are to be adjourned until September 20 when Cook and Shaw, both currently on bail, will be tried at Lincoln Crown Court.
