Some 1200 key players from the residential property and house-building sector will be joining together later this week in one of the sector’s leading events, RESI 2012, which takes place on 13 and 14 September at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, Wales.
RESI 2012 – the only event to focus entirely on the residential property sector - includes a high-level industry conference, a supporting exhibition, interactive break-out sessions and themed feature areas. It is chaired by journalist and broadcaster Sarah Montague.
Providing a networking opportunity amongst industry delegates and a forum for intellectual debate, the focus of the conference will be the current tensions within the residential property sector. Specifically, the event will focus on the challenges of the current market amidst the Eurozone crisis.
Analysis compiled at RESI 2011, and re-evaluated by Savills, has raised questions about the Government’s strategy to support the sluggish residential house-building sector.
It revealed that the industry has a very good understanding and made accurate predictions about current trends and immediate changes in the property sector.
But, says Savills, there has been an imperfect understanding, and inaccurate predictions made about the direction of travel in the broader economy and longer-term issues affecting the economy and residential real estate.
Issues such as this, and breakout sessions focusing on local planning, new models of affordable housing and the growth of mixed-use property, will be debated during the keynote discussions, where the following high profile figures will be speaking:
Nick Candy, Chief Executive at Candy & Candy
Bruce Ritchie, Chief Executive and Founder at Residential Land
Fiona Freeman, Director and Head of Real Estate London at Barclays
Andrew Cunningham, Chief Executive at Grainger
Roger Orf, Head of Real Estate at Apollo
Manish Chande, Senior Partner at Mountgrange
Craig McWilliam, Executive Director at Grosvenor
Stephen Stone, Chief Executive at Crest Nicholson
Steve Morgan, Chairman at Redrow amongst others.
Tony Pidgley, Chairman, The Berkeley Group
Liz Peace, Chief Executive at British Property Federation
RESI is now in its sixth year, and growing exponentially; over 830 delegates attended RESI 2010, over 1000 delegates attended RESI 2011 and over 1200 industry leaders are expected to attend RESI 2012.
