According to a Daily Post report, between May 2003 and June 2008 the defendants allegedly worked together, or with others, to induce false finance or mortgage payments.
Fraudulent documents including mortgage applications, statements of income, letters in support of applications and other documents were also alleged to have been produced by the ring between May 2003 and October 2008.
Defendants Antony Lowry-Huws, 63, Sheila Rose Whalley, 66, valuer Frank Edward Darlington, 60, valuer George Walker, 58, Susan Margaret Lowry-Huws, 59, and solicitor Nicholas John Jones, 53, have all denied conspiring to defraud and falsify documents, the title further reported.
Many of the 40 initial jurors drafted to fill the public gallery for the case have been excused due to the length of the trial as it is likely to interfere with their professional or personal lives.
12 final jurors were selected yesterday by a ballot and three additional individuals have been asked to remain as reserve jurors in case of any problems.
The case has been adjourned by Judge Rhys Rowlands and will re-open on 16th January.
Evidence will begin in the following week; the case is expected to continue until April 2013.
