Aldermore appoints "well-known" director

British challenger bank Aldermore has appointed a new Northern Regional Sales Director of its Invoice Finance business.

British challenger bank Aldermore has appointed a new Northern Regional Sales Director of its Invoice Finance business,
Dan Summerfield.

Reporting to Nick Smith, Managing Director of the Northern Region, Dan is responsible for managing the Invoice Finance sales team throughout Yorkshire and the North West.

Invoice finance is used by small and medium sized businesses to unlock cash tied up in unpaid invoices, which can help improve cashflow and facilitate their future expansion.

Dan Summerfield joins Aldermore from ABN AMRO, where for the past ten years he was Sales Director for the Yorkshire and North East regions.

Commenting on his move, Summerfield said: “Aldermore has established itself as one of the UK’s leading invoice finance companies and I’m delighted to have joined its senior management team at such an exciting time in its development. Small and medium sized businesses need financial support and Aldermore has a range of products and services specifically designed to help companies gain greater control over their cashflow.”

Nick Smith, Northern Managing Director of Aldermore Invoice Finance, added: “I would like to welcome Dan to the Aldermore team. Dan is already well known to business owners across the north of England. I have no doubt he will be able to make an immediate impact in his new role. I would like to wish him every success for the future.”

Aldermore has lent more than £2 billion (a combination of commercial mortgages, residential mortgages, asset finance and invoice finance) since first opening its doors for business in the summer of 2009.

Aldermore has approximately 12,000 SME customers and has increased its business client base by 52 per cent during the past year, at a time when many other banks have been scaling back their SME lending activities.
