Challenger bank Aldermore has announced that its specialist property development team is to benefit from the promotion of Andy Sears, who was previously a regional Sales Manager in the bank’s Invoice Finance division.

Andy Sears will now perform the role of Property Development Manager, joining a growing specialist team led by Peter Owen, Head of Property Development Lending.

He will be responsible for assessing, structuring and progressing property development loan applications from initial submission through to final completion.

Aldermore’s property development team is targeting experienced and established developers who need to borrow between £500,000 and £5 million per project.

Before joining Aldermore, Andy Sears was part of the commercial banking team at NatWest for six years.

Commenting on his new role, Andy Sears said: “Many regional property developers are finding that good quality projects are being held up because of lack of funding. Aldermore is able to help experienced property developers across the country get such projects back on track and I look forward to speaking to them during the months ahead.”

Peter Owen, Head of Property Development Lending at Aldermore, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Andy to our growing team. His understanding both of commercial banking and Aldermore will be an invaluable help, as he takes responsibility for his new role as a Property Development Manager. I would like to wish him every success for the future.”
