The former England and Chelsea captain has completed the construction of a new super mansion, after remortgaging his previous property four times.

John Terry has reportedly completed the construction of a nine-bedroom super mansion in Cobham, marking a significant addition to his worldwide property portfolio.

Despite remortgaging his former home four times, a move which took his home loan total to a reported £4.65 million, the Chelsea star is now ready to move into the £10 million rated property, which includes a private lake in the back garden.

The home also includes eight bathrooms, eight dressing rooms, a 33x40ft indoor pool complete with jacuzzi and steam room, a staff accommodation wing, cinema room and seven parking spaces.

Terry has now finally sold the property for £5.25 million, building the new home in the back garden of the site he bought for £2.25 million back in 2003.

According to reports from several tabloid newspapers, Terry remortgaged the mansion with Northern Rock 12 months after first buying the house, then again in March 2006, 2009 and yet again in 2012.

The reports claimed that Terry’s agent had confirmed that the 32-year-old footballer was simply taking advantage of a generous rate of interest to fund other property deals around the world.

The Sun also reported that Terry, who is on a £150,000-a-week salary, remortgaged his mother-in-law's home in a move apparently to generate cash to build a vast luxury estate from scratch.

Terry supposedly bought the property for his mother-in-law Sue Poole next door to his own for a reported £3.15 million in August 2007, remortgaging both his and Mrs Poole’s property on the same day.

The news came just months after the former England captain had won planning permission to demolish the home in favour of building the nine-bed super mansion.

Originally, Terry had asked for £5 million back in 2010, which was then cut by £250,000 after failing to sell, then again by a further £500,000.

Terry, who has started each of the Blues’ eight league games this season, is Chelsea’s most successful captain having made 395 league appearances and winning three Premier League titles.

He is also the club’s all-time highest scoring defender and has captained the England national team twice.
