A £7.5 million property owner has accused Fabregas of property fraud

The estranged husband of Fabregas’ girlfriend has alleged that a company owned by the ex-Arsenal footballer fraudulently purchased a £5.7 million property £1.6 million under value.

Elie Taktouk, former husband of Fabregas girlfriend Daniella Semaan, has claimed the property could have been sold to other buyers for a much higher price.

Taktouk’s lawyer had previously stated that police were investigating the sale of the Belgravia property where Elie Taktouk has lived with Ms Semaan.

In an earlier hearing, Mr Lyon, Mr Taktouk's barrister, had said: "There's credible prima facie evidence that this property can sell, and sell quickly, for a sum in the region of £7.5 million."

"There are five parties, all of whom have had absolutely no connection with the husband or his family, who have expressed interest in purchasing this property at £7.5 million and all of whom have requested access for viewings, and all of whom are described by the proposed agents as being serious offers."

However, in recent court proceedings, the presiding Judge Mr Justice Coleridge said Mr Taktouk had a history of “lacking credibility”.

The judge, having previously heard evidence from the estate agents, stated: "Unless they are going to be implicated in the fraud it seems to me as if it is a long shot."

Mr Taktouk could face a jail sentence if the judge rules against him.

The court hearings are all part of a dispute in which Ms. Semaan is owed a £1.4 million court settlement by Mr Taktouk, a payoff designed to provide a home for his ex-wife. Ms. Semaan is complaining she is still owed nearly £1 million.

The dispute is due to be fully aired at a hearing later this year.
