Gary Neville has acquired 4 Jordan Street and plans to use it as the central base for his property business, Zerum.
The Victorian era office building, a former printworks, stands at 3,000 sq ft over three floors.
This will be Neville’s second property acquired in the centre of Manchester, following the £1.5 million purchase last year of the old stock exchange on Norfolk Street, which is home to Stock restaurant.
Neville, 38, along with Ryan Giggs,40, a player still at Manchester United, are in the process of building a 139-room hotel next to Old Trafford.
The hotel will be heavily football themed, featuring a roof top pitch, and a supporters club that will have capacity for 1,500 fans on match days. The hotel is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
Also, the entrepreneurial footballers are involved in a joint business venture with Modus founder, Brendan Flood. They intend to unlock another 1.8 acre site in the centre of Manchester featuring a unused police station just off the city's main shopping street, Deansgate.
The area also includes a synagogue, which was built on Jackson Row in the 1950s after the Blitz. As part of the pair’s plans, new offices, apartments and shops on the site will be created, and they will incorporate a new ‘shul’ and community centre complex.
Neville is England’s most capped right-back, with 85 appearances, and was Manchester United’s captain for five years.
He made 602 appearances for Manchester United, and is now a football commentator and England coach.
