< A Lancashire Mortgage Corporation Manager has completed the Tough Guy Challenge alongside a team of nine brokers and lenders.
Divisional Sales Manager for the South Lorenzo Satchell took on the Tough Guy Challenge for the first time in January as a way of testing his fitness to the limit.
The Tough Guy event, which claims to be one of the toughest in the world, tests physical endurance to the limit. The course is packed with 25 obstacles that force contestants to wade chest-deep through half a mile of muddy water, crawl through flooded tunnels, scale 40 foot high walls, negotiate pits of fire and even suffer electric shocks.
That is of course after a 10km long cross country run.
Lorenzo said: “This was by far the hardest thing I have ever done, both physically and mentally.
“The course really takes its toll and we were all shaking with hypothermia by the end, but you learn a lot about yourself and I think I am mad enough to try it again next year!”
The keen sportsman, who has previously run marathons and competed in Ironman triathlons, joined a team of nine brokers and lenders who all managed to complete the challenge.
That was no mean feat considering that around half the 2,500 competitors failed to make it to the finish line.
But 43-year-old Lorenzo, from Surrey, completed the course in just over three hours and he is ready to do it all again.
Lorenzo has already said he would like to do it again with another group of ready and willing volunteers.
Lorenzo said: “It would be great to see if anyone else was up for braving the elements.
“If you really want to challenge yourself, I would say ‘go for it’.”
Lorenzo was running in aid of The Children’s Trust, which provides specialist care for severely disabled children.

Wow.! That guy deserves a medal. he must be so tough to have carried those other guys ( who have no names ) around the entire course.Hopefully he will be on the next Queens honorary list and if he keeps these sorts of performances up he could even become BDM of the year.
