The FCA regulated lender is looking for an experienced underwriter to join their expanding team.
This will be the latest in a line of appointments made by Masthaven recently, with B&C reporting on the recruitment of their brand new BDM, Mark Hedley this week.
Masthaven has seen an incredible January, with highlights including one deadline day when it completed £6 million in bridging loans.

The underwriter will report to directly to Claire Wasbrough, B&C’s 2013 Underwriter of the Year and the lender’s Underwriting and Operations Manager.The new recruit will be expected to train assistant underwriters, as well as being responsible for their own bridging applications case load. They will also be expected to make sure that all parties involved, such as the applicant, broker, and lawyers, are all kept up-to-date.
The lender has specified that the ideal candidate will have at least five year experience, with some being specific to dealing with a variety of bridging loans.
Accuracy and an ability to work to swift deadlines are also seen as dominant traits in the new underwriter.

These aspects were evident within the Masthaven team in the case of its day of £6 million in completions. The transactions occurred on the 31st of January, transfer deadline day.While referring to the atmosphere in the office, Richard Deacon, Sales and Marketing Director of Masthaven, said: “When all eyes were on Jim White and the team at Sky Sports News, Masthaven towers was a hive of activity ensuring all loans got paid out in a timely fashion.
“It is a sight to behold when both introducing broker and underwriter are working as a team to get over the final hurdle and provide the client with the funds they require. The larger deals are always the headline makers, but for Masthaven it is a day to day occurrence which we hope to continue throughout the year.”
