A property tenanted frequently by global icons, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, amongst others, is under investigation from local authorities after a fierce dispute broke out over a helipad on the site, which was supposedly built illegally.

The commercial property, owned by a billionaire hedge fund manager, is regularly rented out to the red carpet’s finest who arrive primarily via helicopter.

Local residents are in uproar over the low-flying air traffic, which prompted an investigation by Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council which revealed that there could be an issue regarding planning permission.

A spokeswoman confirmed to The Independent, that the estate was currently under investigation over two issues: a “change of use to a residential property without planning permission” and a “change of use to a commercial property [helicopter business] without planning permission”.

The property’s owner, Noam Gottesmanthe, is the co-founder of the hedge fund GLG Partners and who is believed to be worth about £2 billion.

Mr Gottesman is a well-known art collector and made headlines in the UK when he sold his London home for £117 million.

American singer and global superstar, Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z are two of many high-profile guests to frequently rent out the property.

The spokesman added that as yet “no planning permission has been granted for a permanent helipad on the land.

“We visited the site, met with the site and an enforcement case remains ongoing.”
