div>Hilton Legal Business Ltd of Ball Grove, Uppermill, Lancashire (SRA ID: 597332) has been shut down by the SRA on Wednesday 11th June, following suspicion of dishonesty and failure to comply with the rules, namely against Director Robert Schofield.
Commenting on the case, The SRA stated: “that there is reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of any manager or employee of a recognised body in connection with that body's business, namely Mr Robert Schofield.
“The Committee was further satisfied in accordance with paragraph 32(1)(a) of Schedule 2 of the Administration of Justice Act 1985 that Hilton Legal Business Limited has failed to comply with the rules applicable to it by virtue of section 9 of the Administration of Justice Act 1985.”
Hilton Legal advertised itself as having lawyers with over 20 years of experience, and was set up by Principal David Clinch in 2009. It further claimed to be experienced in supporting the legal requirements in all corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions as well as real estate law.
The firm was approved by the SRA last July.
SRA agent Neal Boland of Stephenson Solicitors has been appointed to examine the case.
A challenge to this action is currently being considered.
