p> The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has been forced to close the doors of one commercial property law firm.

The body reached an outcome to intervene with Manchester-based Regal Solicitors on the 22nd of August due to its Sole Practitioner, Nasar Hussain, being declared bankrupt on August 12th at the County Court at Bury.

The practice has now been closed by the SRA, along with the suspension of Hussain’s certificate. The main grounds of intervention were: "to protect the interests of clients (or former or potential clients) or the interests of the beneficiaries of any trust of which Mr Hussain is or was a trustee."

"He has informed us that he is seeking to have this annulled and, if successful, his PC would be reinstated." the SRA added.

The solicitor firm specialised litigation and property law and personal injury.

On its website, it stated: “We act for both sellers and purchasers on issues as distinct as property aspects from large corporate deals to the sale and purchase of small business premises.”

The appointed intervening agents are Shacklocks LLP of Mansfield. On behalf of this firm, Marion Vesey, a partner, will act for the SRA.

Clients of Regal are advised to contact the SRA to make claims for any documents or money that may have been seized.

The phone lines of his office have been cut off and Mr Hussain could not be reached for comment.
