p>A Norfolk police officer has been charged in connection with a business fraud investigation.

Alongside PC Catriona Staff, 31, of Lucas Court, Norwich, two individuals have been charged. The trio have received a combined total of 15 fraud charges against them by Eastern Region Specialist Operations Unit officers.

The PC has remained suspended from duty depending on the outcome of the criminal proceedings.

Catriona Staff was charged with three counts of money laundering, equating to more than over £215,000.

Following advice from CPS East of England, Catriona Staff, 31, of Lucas Court, Kevin Nixon, 50, of Shortthorn Road, Stratton, Strawless and Ben Staff, 33, of Lucas Court, Norwich received charges on the 27th November.

All have been released on conditional bail and will appear before Norwich Magistrates Court on Friday 12th December 2014.

Mr Staff of Lucas Court and Mr Nixon of Shortthorn Road were jointly charged with blackmail in relation to a lease agreement transfer on a segment of land and the development of a recycling centre on the outskirts of Norwich.

Mr Staff was also charged with 11 more offences, this comprised of fraudulent trading, fraud by false representation and false accounting in relation to a business named Mr Trades Ltd.

This 11 included three counts of money laundering, totalling over
 £1,113,000.

A 30 year old man from Leeds and a 28 year old man from Norwich, who were arrested in June and September respectively on suspicion of a fraud related offence linked to the same investigation have been re-bailed until January. This is pending further police investigation.

A 60 year old woman and a 65 year old man both from Norwich who were arrested in February and June respectively on suspicion of money laundering, have been released without charge and are set to face no further action.
