p>George Osborne has just announced the Summer Budget to Parliament after issuing his first budget speech in March earlier this year.

Key points made by Osborne included:

•    Tackling tax evasion and avoidance to create annual savings of £5bn
•    Abolishing permanent non-dom tax status
•    Further building the Northern Powerhouse
•    Restricting mortgage interest relief on residential property to the basic rate of income tax to create a more level playing-field between those buying a home to let and those buying to live in
•    Adding a further £175,000 allowance to inheritance tax from 2017 and those who wish to downsize will not lose any of the allowance from the property they used to own
