Wellesley Finance has further bolstered its team with the appointment of Sebastiano Carrelli as Senior Lending Manager, as well as revealing it is soon to also hire a Business Development Director…

Sebastiano, who previously worked for Santander’s Real Estate Finance team for eight years before joining the Large Corporate Team where he dealt with clients turning over between £50m and £2bn, has joined the bridging team at Wellesley Finance.

Sebastiano’s new role will include taking responsibility for larger transactions and ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the team.

The new lending manager will also be supporting all team members in solving any issues that arise during the documentation process and offering guidance when quoting for new business and dealing with complex cases that fall outside of credit policy.

Sebastiano stated that he decided to join the lender as he was attracted by the ambitious growth plans that it is embarking on.

“I was attracted to the challenge and more importantly I can see the potential for me to add significant value to the team due to my past experiences,” Sebastiano commented.

B&C reported earlier this year that the lender had snapped up ex-Shawbrook manager Thomas Clark as Head of Bridging and appointed ex-Loans Warehouse Head of Bridging, Jamie Oxley, as Senior Bridging Loan Officer.

When asked what plans Wellesley has over the next six months, Sebastiano stated the team is putting the finishing touches to its online, automated platform which will give clients and introducers agreements in principle for deals that meet all of its credit criteria.

“The system is in testing phase at present,” Sebastiano added.

“We are also hopefully welcoming a junior member of the team as well as Business Development Director who will help us push the business forward,” he concluded.
