The conference held by the Association of Short Term Lenders last week was a sell-out event, with nearly 160 bridging professionals attending...
The conference, which was headlined by Sir Vince Cable saw a host of industry insiders deliver speeches.
Benson Hersch, CEO of ASTL, said: “This year’s conference was the best yet, certainly if the turnout is anything to go by.
“Once again, the conference brought together some of the best minds in the industry to discuss the challenges facing one of the fastest growing sectors of the lending market.
“The conference highlighted that in order to remain at the very forefront of responsible lending members will need to deal with issues around fraud and regulation head on.”
Sir Vince discussed the impact the 2008 financial crisis had on the industry, and cautioned that the UK economy might not be as healthy as some people think.
Lorna O’Brien of the FCA spoke about next year’s introduction of the Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD) and warned that the new rules may impact on lenders who think they will not be affected.
