The specialist lender completed on £75.22m worth of loans during the last month of last year, beating its previous record of £68.76m in December 2014.

The December figure also contributed to a strong final quarter, which was up 11.4% by value on the previous year.

Dragonfly said, in total, the value of completions in 2015 was 6.1% higher than in 2014, and it has now completed on £1.74bn of loans since launching in 2009.

With the lender now targeting the £2bn milestone, Mark Posniak, Managing Director of Dragonfly, said it had been a fantastic end to the year, because it followed a number of managerial changes.

“The fourth quarter performance, peaking in December, goes to show how focused and determined this team remains,” said Mark.

“It goes without saying that we are here to do the very best job we can for brokers and their clients, across both residential and commercial, throughout 2016.”

In November, Dragonfly revealed that it will rebrand to become Octopus Property in the New Year.
