Lenders to benefit from banking disruption group

Mobile commerce association Mobey Forum has launched a group dedicated to informing financial providers about banking disruption.

The Banking Disruption work group will enable members to discuss and better understand a range of market disruptions.

George Charalambous, Co-Chair of the Banking Disruption Group said: “These are both testing and exciting times for banks; the sector is going through an unprecedented period of disruption.

“As always, the biggest winners will be those that are the most prepared.

“This new working group is designed to bring leading banks together in a bid to help them grow stronger, both as individual organisations and collectively as an industry.”

George, Head of Digital Transformation at HSBC Retail Banking and Wealth Management, will share his position as chair with Zaf Kazmi, Head of Group Mobile Channel Strategies at Erste Group Bank.

Zaf added: “Our goal is to identify the winning propositions and between us develop an understanding as to why they have succeeded where others have failed.”

Mobey Forum is a global industry association empowering banks and other financial institutions to lead in the development of mobile financial services.
