Together breaks BTL record

Specialist lender Together completed a record number of buy-to-let (BTL) deals in June.

The firm completed 149 first and second charge loans last month, which included both traditional and consumer BTL.

Marc Goldberg, Commercial CEO at Together, said: “Looking back over the last 18 months, June is a record for our BTL lending and I think that’s a really positive indication of the strength of this sector, despite the various changes, including the increased stamp duty, introduced earlier this year.

“We continually work with our intermediary partners to improve and enhance our product offering and our strong performance reaffirms that we’re giving brokers what they want when it comes to BTL products.

“We hope to see continued growth in the latter half of the year.”

Together’s BTL lending for the first quarter of 2016 was up 65% year-on-year.

In June, the firm removed the maximum age limit on its BTL mortgages for certain applications and doubled the maximum loan amount before a referral is required from £200,000 to £400,000.
