BDMs and turnaround times most important to brokers




Turnaround times and business development manager (BDM) support are the most important factors for mortgage brokers when considering a bridging lender.

The results come from a survey carried out by LendInvest throughout England and Wales, which asked brokers to rate on a scale of importance a series of individual factors they may consider when deciding which lender to place a case with.

LendInvest found that 100% of those surveyed named turnaround times and BDM support as either very important or absolutely essential, while communications, training and development were seen as the least important.

“These survey results show how important it is for lenders to offer a full service,” explained Matthew Tooth, Head of Distribution at LendInvest.  

“Boasting low interest rates alone simply won’t cut it – intermediaries and their clients want to work with lenders that can deliver the funds quickly and offer round-the-clock support.”

Matthew added that with the Brexit result the market was now changing. 

“Some lenders may look to pull back on their activity, or leave the market altogether. 

“Lenders that can offer certainty of funding for cases that pass their existing underwriting requirements will be indispensable for intermediaries."
