Affirmative appoints ex-Hope BDM

Specialist lender Affirmative Finance has announced the appointment of a new business development manager (BDM) amid wider plans for a northern expansion.

Jim Wylie joins Affirmative from Hope Capital and brings with him over 25 years of experience in the industry.

Eugene Esterkin, managing director of Affirmative, said: “Jim is an excellent addition to our team at Affirmative.

“His experience and skills will maintain our business philosophy and ensure we continue to grow and develop.

“Jim’s knowledge of the market, and in particular his Scottish links and contacts, are a valuable and truly worthwhile benefit to the Affirmative Group.”

Jim also previously served at The Mortgage Business, DB Mortgages and First National Bank.

He said: “I am looking forward to this.

“Affirmative has for years had a presence in Scotland and has a good reputation in the region.

“I want to take that presence to the next level.”

The appointment comes as part of plans to expand further into the North of England and the Midlands.

Jim will be followed by at least one more BDM to Affirmative’s northern sales team.

Eugene added: “We are committed to covering as much ground as we can with a larger and deeper BDM team and are adding to our underwriting and processing teams constantly to ensure service standards are equally enhanced.

“We view Brexit as delivering opportunities despite the views expressed by some in the industry and while caution is obviously required, we believe that this is a time for creative lending.”

In June, Affirmative bolstered its lending team with the appointment of a new underwriter.
