Consumers are now able to sign up for a Monzo card via Android devices.
Previously this option was only available for those using Apple’s iOS devices.
The new app offers instant notifications for every transaction, automatic categorisation on every purchase and a map of the retailers used.
At the launch of the earlier iOS app, Tom Blomfield, CEO of Monzo, said: “We started Mondo because we believe that banking can be better.
“We’re tired of hidden fees and charges, endless paper forms and nothing quite working in the way we’d expect.
“So we’re trying to build a bank that we’d want for ourselves, our friends and our families.”
Customers who lose their card are able to ‘freeze’ or ‘defrost’ it via the app, as well as talk with Monzo employees through a live support chat.
The newest feature is a budgeting tool that allows customers to set their own spending targets, with green, orange and red notifications to warn if spending approaches these limits.
In September, Monzo rebranded from its previous moniker ‘Mondo’ following a legal challenge from an undisclosed company.
