Mathon Appoints Andrew Sobolewski as CEO

Mathon, one of the UK’s leading asset-based commercial lenders in the property sector, has appointed Andrew Sobolewski to be its Chief Executive Officer.
Andrew joins Mathon from his previous role as Commercial Property Partner at leading Scottish law firm Burness LLP. He will be taking up his new position, based in Mathon's Glasgow headquarters in early August.

David Lutton, COO at Mathon said; “Andrew's appointment is both incredibly welcome and a timely development for us at Mathon. Our business is expanding rapidly and Andrew will bring a wealth of commercial acumen and property sector experience, to help take us to a new level, in these exciting times. He will take charge of Mathon's existing operations, corporate strategy and the financial planning required to drive our progress. This will include developing into the wider property marketplace, including property investment."

Andrew Sobolewski commented; “I am delighted to be joining Mathon at such a critical juncture in its evolution. Whilst many of our peers and competitors are clearly struggling in the current financial fall-out, Mathon has seen a 400% increase in deal volume over the last year. I am certain that this, together with a number of, as yet unannounced initiatives will make my new role both challenging and rewarding over the coming months and years. I look forward to helping Mathon reinforce its position as the foremost asset-based lender in the UK's commercial property marketplace.”
