Ryneveld van der Horst leaves Bridgingloans.com

.

The CEO of Bristol-based bridging lender, Bridgingloans.com, has announced that he is leaving the sector and returning to South Africa, where he will be looking at new business ventures.

Ryneveld van der Horst joined Bridgingloans.com in the summer of 2007 as finance director, and assumed the role of CEO at the end of 2008, after former head, Martyn Smith, stepped down from the post.

Commenting on his departure, Mr van der Horst said: “I have greatly enjoyed my time in the bridging finance sector. I’ve done what I have wanted to do to a large extent and now I look forward to going back to South Africa for new challenges.”

Alan Margolis, CEO of bridging lender Cheval, where Mr van der Horst held the role of finance director for over two years, added: “As an ex Capetonian I fully understand the attraction of Cape Town to Ryneveld. It has been a privilege working with him over the last few years, both at Cheval and more recently on the Executive Committee of the astl. I sincerely hope that we will see Ryneveld back in the UK at some point in the future.”

Having had a prolific career in the short term loan sector, which includes acting as executive member of the Association of Short Term Lenders (astl), running an award-winning bridging company and contributing extensively to Bridging & Commercial and Bridge Doctors – Mr van der Horst will most definitely be missed by everyone in the industry.

On behalf of all of us, Bridging & Commercial wishes him the best of luck in the future.
