Bridging & Commercial sponsors Masthaven managing director in marathon bid

Here at Bridging & Commercial we’re always willing to lend a hand to a worthy cause, so when we received an email from Masthaven managing director, Andrew Bloom, informing us that he is running the London Marathon to raise money for the Gaucher Association, we said we’d give him our full support.

Andrew will take part in the London Marathon on the 25th of April and is hoping to complete the 26.2 miles in under 4 and a half hours, as well as raise as close to £5,000 as possible for his charity.

The Gaucher Association is a charity that supports individuals and families that suffer from Gaucher’s disease, a little known genetic disorder, which only affects 6,000 people worldwide.

There are three types of Gaucher’s disease. The most common forms of Gaucher’s disease (Type 1) affects 1 in 100,000 of the general population but 1 in 850 of Jewish (Ashkenazi) descent, although not all those who inherit the mutated genes for this disorder will show symptoms.

In the rarer Neuronopathic (Type 2 and Type 3) Gaucher disease, neurological symptoms occur which include an eye movement disorder, fits, loss of skills and a central auditory processing disorder. Children with Type 2 Disease die within one or two years of birth.

Andrew commented: “This disorder directly affects my immediate family, hence I am asking people to be particularly generous, and I am also happy to receive performance related sponsorship.”

If anyone wishes to sponsor Andrew, either go to and add in your sponsorship, or contact

[email protected] and pledge an amount to him.

From all of us at Bridging & Commercial, we wish Andrew the best of luck in reaching his fundraising goal.
