New research carried out by United Trust Bank has revealed that the majority of brokers in the bridging sector expect business volumes to grow in 2015.

UTB’s research revealed that 73 per cent of brokers expect to complete more bridging business over the next 12 months while 22 per cent believe it will stay the same.

The research also found that nearly half of those who responded completed between £1 million and £10 million of bridging business in 2014.

Head of Bridging at United Trust Bank, Alan Margolis said that it is clear the positive sentiment within the short term market carried over from last year.

“Barring something major unforeseen, and notwithstanding the natural degree of uncertainty likely to be caused before, and possibly after the General Election, the Bridging Department likewise expects continued solid growth in the sector and for our business, although not necessarily at the same level that we saw in 2014,” said Alan.

“We welcome competition as a driver of standards and choice for brokers and their customers. UTB remains committed to providing high standards of service allied to competitive rates and products and this will be the basis upon which we will continue to grow our business in 2015.”
