It’s been a strange evening to say the least. It is currently 1.50am and I am just in from the hospital. Mrs T is 37 weeks pregnant with our second child (together) and due to drop very soon. I am pleased to report that despite a panic a couple of hours ago, all is in fact well with both her and baby T #2, hence being back home. It was a false alarm, but better to be safe than sorry of course.
Prior to a late night / early morning visit to the hospital, I spent the evening in the recording studio, mixing my band’s latest promo CD. It was straight from work to the studio, with the plan being to work on the songs for a couple of hours and then head home about 9.30pm. Plenty of time to write this week’s blog…The studio ran on (as is always the case) and I left at around 11pm, only to find that Mrs T had been trying to reach me, as she was having pains, felt poorly and thought it best to go to hospital to get checked out. It seems those studios are not so good for mobile phone reception (who knew).
Having got home not very long ago and with the drama of thinking the baby was going to be born this evening, I forgot all about this week’s blog, which I had put off all day, due to a manic day of meetings and new business enquiries. So please forgive this rambled account of my evening – but it did not go to plan (by any means). Whilst time management may not be my strongest attribute, I certainly didn’t anticipate writing this week’s blog at nearly 2am. Therefore excuse my lack of bridging-related content for just one week, but I hope you agree that this evening’s turn of events gave me reason not to stick to the normal format this week!
The moral of this story is of course, to plan my time better and not to put things off that need doing, because you never know what is going to happen that could get in the way of even best-laid plans. In my case, there is often a drama and you think I would know myself better by now. None the less, I am pleased to say Mrs T and Baby T are both safe and well, with little one deciding she is quite comfy where she is for now and will make us wait a few more days (maybe weeks) before she makes an appearance in to the world.
Good night all and thanks for reading this week’s somewhat unconventional blog. Next time, it will be back to Bridging news. I promise.
