Advisor wins football stars' landmark bid

Two football legends have teamed up with an advisor firm to expand their commercial property empires

An advisor firm has recently assisted two football legends with their commercial property empires.

For clients Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, development and project management specialist Zerum secured planning consent for the transformation of the former Stock Exchange building  (Pictured) in Manchester.

The two former Manchester United team mates plan to turn the 99 year old building into a boutique hotel hosting 35 bedrooms, bars, a restaurant, function space and a gym.

After assisting with the planning application, Zeron has also advised Giggs and Neville on project management. Partner and Head of Planning, Mike Ralph, said: “This planning approval creates an important ‘platform’ for our client to finalise its operational requirements before hopefully pressing on with the implementation of what is an exciting scheme for this important city centre property,”

The Stock Exchange is a Grade II Listed building and was subject to a Listed Building Consent, however the green light was granted by Manchester City Council.

This is not the first development project the Premier League-winning pair have embarked on, who both stand as Directors of GG hospitality. On the 2nd March, the group is set to open the doors of its 133-room Hotel Football, located opposite Manchester United’s home ground, Old Trafford. Fit with a roof-top football pitch.

The landmark location in the centre of Manchester is set to expand the pair’s commercial portfolio, already featuring Hotel Football and Westfield based Café Football.
