Albatross unveils principal-led deal team structure

Albatross Lending Group has unveiled a new principal-led deal team structure.
Under the new structure, Albatross’ deal team operates across two dedicated pods, one led by co-founder Lewis Casserley (pictured above, right) and the other by co-founder Jordan Fearnley-Brown (left).
Each brings together BDMs, deal processors and a designated underwriter, placing the group’s principals directly alongside the teams assessing and progressing cases.
The restructure is designed to give brokers earlier access to decision-makers, a clearer understanding of lending appetite and faster, credit-backed conditional offers.
It also sees both founders take a more active role in day-to-day origination following a period focused on developing the group’s infrastructure, funding relationships and team.
The developments mark the next stage of the lender’s expansion, with two further finance divisions set to launch in the coming weeks.
Elsewhere, Albatross has reported strong lending activity.
In the week ending 23rd October, the value of conditional offers issued was approximately 72% above its trailing three-month weekly average, while the value of indicative terms issued increased by 18% on the previous week.
The lender has also recently relocated to larger premises.
The 4,000 sq ft headquarters in the City of London provides space for its expanded team and planned divisional launches, with two due in the coming weeks.
“When Jordan and I started Albatross, brokers dealt directly with the people making the lending decisions,” said Lewis.
“As we have grown, preserving that access has remained important to us.
“The new pod structure puts it at the centre of how our deal teams work, with a principal, an underwriter and the team progressing the case working closely together.”
