Aldermore commercial real estate lending passes £500m

Milestone hit after strongest year of growth since 2019

Section: News

Aldermore commercial real estate lending surpassed £500m in the last financial year, after a period of landmark growth for the lender.

This period included completion on a £85m facility, the largest single transaction in the bank’s history.

Over the past year, Aldermore has enhanced its CRE lending criteria, broadening the range of deals it can support.

This included expanding the size of loans it can offer, from £3m up to £100m, and beginning to support 100% overseas equity structures.

"Reaching £500m in commercial real estate lending is a significant milestone, and one that reflects the investment we’ve made in evolving our proposition over the past year,” said Azfar Rizvi, commercial director for corporate and commercial lending (originations) at Aldermore.

“We've listened closely to brokers and customers about what they need in a lending partner and responded with meaningful enhancements, including higher LTVs, larger loan sizes, support for overseas structures and funding ahead of stabilisation.

“Combined with a stronger team and greater regional coverage, we're now able to support a wider range of transactions, including some of the most complex deals in the market, while continuing to deliver the speed and flexibility our broker partners expect.”
