Banking experts join Fintech Circle Institute's board

The Fintech Circle Institute has been designed to empower finance professionals with the necessary digital skills to adapt to the changing industry and offers a combination of practical bite-size courses on topics such as blockchain, regtech and robo-banking.
The board of the Fintech Circle Institute is made up of:
• Kaushalya Somasundaram, head of fintech partnerships and strategy, HSBC
• Michael Harte, global head of innovation, Barclays
• Chris Coleridge, senior faculty in management practice at Cambridge Judge Business School (University of Cambridge)
• Ben Brabyn, chief executive, Level39
• Todd McDonald, co-founder and head of ecosystem development, R3
• David Craig, president, financial and risk, Thomson Reuters
• Olof Pripp, vice-chairman, board and CEO services, Korn Ferry, EMEA
• Joy MacKnight, deputy editor, The Banker
• Prof Philip Treleaven, professor and director of UK Financial Computing Centre, University College London
• Markos Zachariadis, assistant professor at Warwick Business School and research fellow at the University of Cambridge.
“Fintech knowledge is not a ‘nice to have’, but an essential asset for anyone working in financial services,” said Kaushalya.
“I’m excited to collaborate with other banking, fintech and academic experts to build a platform that will enable individuals to boost their career prospects, while bringing real value to enterprises and ultimately fuelling innovation across the entire industry.”
A recent Fintech Circle Institute study found that 94% of financial services professionals suspect their colleagues of using buzzwords, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence, without understanding their meaning.
The report also revealed that 22% of financial services professionals were putting off developing their digital skills out of fear that it was too late to catch up with fintech experts.
“It’s worrying to think that financial services professionals believe it’s too late to build their digital and fintech skills, while others are bluffing their skillset,” said Susanne Chishti, CEO and founder of the Fintech Circle Institute.
