Secure Trust Bank has announced the resignation of an independent non-executive Director to avoid any potential conflict of interest

Secure Trust Bank (STB) has announced the resignation of an independent non-executive Director to avoid any potential conflict of interest.

Carol Sergeant CBE joined the STB Board in September 2011, just prior to the lender’s flotation on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

Before that, Carol was Head of Major Banks’ Supervision at the Bank of England, Managing Director at the Financial Services Authority and Chief Risk Officer at Lloyds Banks.

Sir Henry Angest, Chairman at STB, said: “Carol has brought a wealth of financial and corporate governance experience to the Secure Trust Bank board over the past four years, making significant contributions to the direction in which we have taken the bank since its listing on AIM in 2011.

“I wish Carol every success in her future endeavours.”

Carol’s resignation will take effect on 31st December.
