GB Bank surpasses £1bn of lending

Bank has met the milestone in under two and a half years

GB Bank has reached £1bn in lending, marking a significant milestone for the specialist bank.

The bank launched in May 2024, and said it has built its growth on individually underwritten cases, close working relationships with intermediaries and the commitment of its people to delivering for customers.

It has reached the milestone during a demanding period for the UK property finance market, with higher funding costs and greater caution across the lending sector.

The bank has continued to develop its lending proposition during 2026, most recently relaunching its commercial finance offering and increasing its maximum loan size from up to £20 million to up to £25 million.

“Surpassing £1 billion of lending is a significant milestone for GB Bank and a reflection of the momentum we have built since launch," said Eddie Trahearn, chief executive officer at the bank.
"While we are proud of what we have achieved, we remain firmly focused on what comes next.
"We have significant opportunities ahead and a clear ambition to continue growing responsibly as we build GB Bank into the UK's leading specialist property-backed lender.”
