Hope Capital boosts Gunnercooke Scotland relationship with dual legal representation offering

New arrangement enhances Hope Capital’s Scottish lending proposition

Hope Capital Property Finance has extended its relationship with existing legal panel firm Gunnercooke Scotland, which will now also offer dual legal representation for property transactions in Scotland.

The move follows the expansion announced earlier this year, when Aberdein Considine and Carters joined the lender’s Scottish dual representation panel.

Under the arrangement, one solicitor firm acts for both the lender and borrower.

This can reduce duplication in the legal process, helping borrowers avoid some of the time and costs associated with instructing separate firms.

The offering is available through Hope Capital’s recently launched Max GDV residential bridging proposition, with dual legal representation available on loans of up to £1m.

Hope Capital, which has lent in Scotland since 2018, said extending its existing relationship with Gunnercooke Scotland reflects its continued investment in its Scottish offering.

Laura Carr, director of underwriting, compliance and stakeholder relations at Hope Capital Property Finance (pictured above), said: “We’ve built a strong working relationship with Gunnercooke Scotland during their time on our legal panel, so extending that relationship to include dual legal representation is a natural next step.

“Their team understands our approach and the pace of bridging finance, which provides a strong foundation for delivering a coordinated legal process.

“We’re pleased to build on that relationship while giving brokers and borrowers more choice when placing cases in Scotland.”

Bryan Finlayson, partner at Gunnercooke, said: “Having worked closely with Hope Capital Property Finance as a member of its Scottish legal panel, we’re delighted to build on that relationship by extending our offering to include dual legal representation.

“We’ve developed a strong understanding of how our teams work together and share a commitment to helping transactions progress efficiently.

“This is an opportunity to strengthen that collaboration and support more brokers and borrowers with their Scottish property transactions.”
