A bridging lender has increased its lending by 1,100 per cent in just three years.

Hope Capital has announced that its loan book has increased drastically since it started bridging loans back in 2011.

The lender has organically grown since it launched in 2011 and is now lending an average of £420,000 per deal, which is up from £200,000 at the end of 2012, only a year ago.

Its maximum loan size now sits at £1.5 million, although “there is always potential to offer more”.

Jonathan Sealey, Managing Director of Hope Capital, sees the company growing further: “We will be looking to double our loan book in 2014. We are happy with the size of the loans that we lend on, but we are completely flexible and offer bespoke loans, so we will do both larger and smaller loans if the proposition is right.“

This news comes just after the announcement of in-house promotion last week. Hayley Taylor, who had only been Hope Capital’s Office Manager for 8 months, has now been promoted to Operations Manager, due to her performance and previous 15 years of experience in the banking sector.

Jonathan said of Hayley’s new role: “She will be working closely with brokers to ensure the team continues to grow with our reputation of making quick decisions, offering a service which is second to none, together with and a smooth efficient drawdown process.”

He added: “If Hope Capital continues to grow as it has over the past 3 years and we double our turnover this year as expected, then we will also be make a number of other new additions to the team in 2014. In terms of spreading our wings, I think an office in London is something that we will give some serious consideration to in the coming 12 months.”

According to figures from the astl, all members of the Association have increased their lending by 40 per cent year-on-year. With that in mind, Jonathan pointed out that Hope Capital, despite a relatively small start, “are significantly outstripping the market in terms of growth”.
